Holiday Style

Comfy, Cozy, Confident

Do you want to feel totally comfortable and at ease this holiday season?  Maybe even throw in a splash of sparkle?

That burgundy cashmere sweater is waiting for you to wrap yourself up as you throw on that flowy green silk skirt. Heels or boots? Well, it’s up to your body!  Do you need to be lifted and leaning into the crowd or chill and hanging back on your heels?

It’s all about the energy you need to put out there, so you can manage yourself in the holiday shuffle.

Each body is different. Everyone has different style. You pick from colors, textures, accents, heel height, accessories, yup, some of the basic style principles that help set your individuality apart.

But we also have to follow our rhythm, our vibe, and our inner guidance.

So, take note. How do you want to enter into the new year? How do you want to feel?

Make a list of your top 5 goals. Not anyone else’s goals or vision for you. Just yours!

For me, I’ve learned a lot this year around slowing down and simplifying.  I used to think ‘Bigger was Better.’ But that actually wasn’t aligned with my energy.  Intimate settings are my most favorite endeavor in life.  I use this principle to filter all my decisions.

Knowing how you want to feel this holiday is a game changer in how you engage with your friends and family, how you stand out in the crowd, and how you relax and have fun!

This holiday season we’re taking a break and relaxing into a European Christmas Adventure.

Have a fabulous New Year Celebration, however you plan to play, make sure it’s filling up your soul, so you can rock out 2019.

I’ll see you in the New Year!

Cheers,

Carrie

Can you believe it? We’re in the first week of December.  I don’t know where the past two months went.

Well, I do. I was settling into my new home.  Getting acquainted with life in Europe, specifically, island life.

With the holiday season upon us, it’s always filled with fun while connecting with others, a few tears while reflecting on the year, and inspiration as you peak into the new year.

I’m gonna be honest with you. I’m still angry at times about the sequence of events in my life. Many things were out of my control, but if you believe in co-creation and universal alignment, well, guess who’s staring you right in the face.

Yup, you… (me too).

Building a business, a brand, an experience for others to participate in takes focus, grit, and determination.  At times, I haven’t had that. Stepping into a new version of yourself isn’t for the faint of heart. It takes depth, awareness, a willingness to experiment, an ability to accept what is & a need to embody a new vision.

Let’s talk about all the emotions that come up during transformation.  (And the holidays. Can we say Bridget Jones might come out to play?)

You may start with hope.

  • A true desire and clear vision for a new sense of you

There will be fear.

  • What if it doesn’t work?

  • What if I can’t change?

And then anger & sadness sets in.

  • A blood curdling feeling of injustice

  • A heart wrenching ache of sorrow that can kill all hope

Emotions are an internal storyteller.  When you can’t feel them, breakdowns happen. It’s part of the process.

When we’re not living our truth and doing what we REALLY want to do, our bodies create illness. Symptoms that plague your focus.  They dominate your perspective and your commitment to keep going. They influence your actions.

And, then you pause, because there’s a decision to make.  “Do I stretch into the new me or do I stay here drowning in fear, doubt, and frustration?” Believe it or not, when it feels like your back is up against the wall, you have a choice.

That choice can be your deadlines, your body, your family, but please consider your body first. You’re nothing without your health and livelihood.

So, what does this have to do with style?

You know that woman who walks into the holiday party and you can’t stop staring at her?

She’s so put together. Her nails, hair, and outfit look beautiful. It’s not the attire that you’re drawn to. It’s her vibe. She flutters about the room, smiling, with sparkly clutch in hand -- introducing herself to everyone with ease.

She knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to ask for it.

You don’t have to wait until the New Year to make your style a priority.

The key to sashaying into the holidays feeling good, is to focus on your style before you feel ready.
